Overview

We are pleased to offer our TUSD DevELOPment Academy, an expanded learning enrichment program that provides hands-on engaging learning experiences that focus on developing the positive academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of participating students. "Expanded learning” includes before school, after school, summer, or intersession learning services. Families can have peace of mind, knowing their child is being taken care of in a supportive and safe environment outside of school hours, but still at school.

Goal

To provide academic support, enrichment and connections for students beyond the regular school day. The program complements, but does not replicate, learning activities in the regular school day and school year.

Eligible Students

DevELOPment Academy is a fee-based program; however, your family may qualify for a fee waiver or a reduced fee through our sliding scale. To be considered for a fee waiver or sliding scale, families must first complete the Free and Reduced Meal Application available on the Nutrition Services webpage. If you are interested in the sliding scale, please fill out the application and then contact us at elop@tusd.org.

Students who meet one of the following qualifications will be given priority in the program:

• Homelessness
• Foster Youth
• Students who qualify for free or reduced meals
• English Language Learners

Program Details

Currently, our TUSD DevELOPment Academy runs from the close of school until 6:00 p.m. each day. The schedule provides time for homework assistance, a nutritious snack, and enrichment activities.
