Summer ELOPProgram Overview The 2026 Summer ELOP program provides a 9-hour, full-day expanded learning experience for TK–6th grade students. The program combines academic support, English Language Development (ELD), and enrichment opportunities. To foster creativity, teamwork, and engagement, Summer ELOP 2026 will feature a wide range of enrichment experiences. The 2026 Summer ELOP program is offered at no cost to eligible families. Enrichment Areas: STEM / Robotics / Maker Labs Performing & Visual Arts (music, dance, theater, digital media) Sports & Wellness (team sports, yoga, martial arts) Life Skills & Leadership (gardening, cooking, service projects) Aquatics Program – continuation of swim lessons at the Torrance Aquatic Center. Lunch and snacks provided daily. Dates Monday, June 22 – Friday, July 24, 2026 No School: Thursday, July 2nd or Friday, July 3 (Independence Day observance) Total ELOP Summer Days: 23 days Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (9 hours daily) Eligibility The 2026 Summer ELOP Program is designed to provide expanded learning opportunities for students currently enrolled in the DevELOPment Academy after-school program who qualify for ELOP fee waivers. Invited Participants: Current ELOP students receiving fee waivers, including students who are low-income, English Learners, foster youth, or experiencing homelessness. TUSD DevELOPment AcademyOverview We are pleased to offer our TUSD DevELOPment Academy, an expanded learning enrichment program that provides hands-on engaging learning experiences that focus on developing the positive academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of participating students. "Expanded learning” includes before school, after school, summer, or intersession learning services. Families can have peace of mind, knowing their child is being taken care of in a supportive and safe environment outside of school hours, but still at school. Goal To provide academic support, enrichment and connections for students beyond the regular school day. The program complements, but does not replicate, learning activities in the regular school day and school year. Eligible Students DevELOPment Academy is a fee-based program, however your family may qualify for a fee-waiver. Students who meet one of the following qualifications will be given priority in the program: Homelessness Foster Youth Students who qualify for free or reduced meals English Language Learners Students who meet one of the following qualifications will be exempt from fees: Homelessness Foster Youth Students who qualify for free or reduced meals Program Details Currently, our TUSD DevELOPment Academy runs from the close of school until 6:00 p.m. each day. The schedule provides time for homework assistance, a nutritious snack, and enrichment activities. Students enrolled in the programs are expected to attend the full program daily. Student pick-up window is between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. daily. Students exiting the program prior to 5:00 p.m. must adhere to the guidelines outlined in the Early Release Policy that can be found in our Parent Handbook.
